Visit a working dairy farm! Get a glimpse at what life was like for families on an Illinois dairy farm during the Great Depression. Try your hand at some chores and discover how farmers took simple machines and designed the agricultural implements that made their work possible. Complete the visit with a relaxing wagon ride around the fields at Primrose Farm.

Length of Program: 2 hours

Primrose Farm sells fertilized chicken eggs for classroom hatching projects! Eggs come from our flock of rare Columbian Wyandottes. Cost is $5 per dozen. We gladly accept return of chicks hatched out of our eggs if they need a home after brightening your classroom. Sign up early for a “Farmyard Friends” tour and have your whole class accompany their chicks back to the farm.

* Resident (R) rates apply to schools located within the St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 boundaries. All other schools are considered Non-Resident (NR).
